So many notes!

I have begun practicing violin and taking lessons again in preparation for my solo show. I played violin throughout my childhood and adolescence. I mostly abandoned it around the age of 17 for a life in the theater! It turns out playing an instrument is actually really useful for clowns. While I remember a lot, my fingers feel so clumsy and slow. I am working on a concerto by Seitz, and there are so many notes! I am sure that years of gripping a trapeze bar have not made my fingers more nimble. But it’s super fun to get back to it. It is thrilling to actually create music with your body. And it’s amazing how much improvement you can make when you practice everyday - another thing I failed to understands a teenager.
